On Saturday, November 16th from 11a-3p: don’t miss “Celebration of Heritage Craft“! The Craft School Mill Hollow Works on Hurricane Road in Keene is proud to be partnering once again with the Monadnocker to bring Keene this fantastic event.
They’ve invited some of their favorite makers to set up shop in and around The Craft School’s gorgeous greenhouse, which is decked out for this special season. Come shop local goods & gifts right before the holidays 🎁. Find traditional New England games, educational presentations from local leaders, and more!

🍂 When you arrive, you can also enter to win the gorgeous gift basket put together by their invited makers.
Munch and brunch on local flavors. Enjoy live performances by talented area musicians and hear the story of NH’s Chieftan Passaconaway as told by amazing storyteller and podcaster Sebastian Lockwood at noon.  Attend historical presentation “Rediscovering the Narratives of Indigenous and Black New Englanders” by Archeologist and Citizen Archivist Gail Golec at 2pm. Learn a traditional “Waulking” song and particpate in Waulking the Tweed with Kathy Torrey at 2:30.
Come prepared to get crafty because The Craft School will be offering make-and-take activities for adults and children including a Kids Crafting Corner.
See up close demonstrations by Heritage Craft Artisans and engage with the Makers.  Demonstrations include Blacksmithing, Basketry, Wood Carving, Boatbuilding, Rug Hooking, Wool Spinning, Flax Spinning and Broom Making.

View an exhibit from “Legacy in Crafting: New England’s Story”, the in-progress documentary project of MHW Founder Heather Holloway.  Legacy in Crafting; New England’s Story is a symbiotic tale, a journey that weaves through and amongst the hands and hearts of modern heritage crafters as they maintain the traditional fabric of New England craft work, integral to our American cultural heritage and the regional identity of New Englanders. This exhibit includes photography and media excerpts from the project – and includes gorgeous prints for sale

This event is made possible with support from the NH State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment of the Arts and funding by the NHSAC Folklife and Traditional Arts Project Grant,
