Students from Leland & Gray’s Project Based Learning Event Planning class and the Community Hope and Action Planning Committee are working hard to prepare for a fun,
family-friendly, Green Up Day event. This event will take place on Saturday, May 4th on the Townshend Common in Townshend, Vermont.

Beginning at 8:00am on May 4th, community members are invited to pick up trash bags, gloves, coffee, and donuts in front of Leland and Gray to begin the day. Volunteers make a huge
difference in our community! Help Vermont set the Guiness World Record of most pledges to pick up trash in 24 hours by signing the pledge form and becoming an official Green Up Day
volunteer. Pledge forms will be available at this time.

After cleaning up our beautiful neighborhoods, we encourage you to join us on the Townshend Common to enjoy a free lunch, live music, and family fun from 11:30am-1:30pm. There will also be a truck where you can dispose of your full trash bags.

Why should you take part? Each year, volunteers collect as much as 348 tons of trash and properly dispose of over 15,000 tires. Green Up Day is an opportunity for all to help maintain
Vermont’s natural beauty. By participating in Green Up Day, you will help to sustain the health of Vermonters by decreasing the amount of pollution in our environment.
