Westminster West, VT Annual Community Fair will take place on Saturday, September 7th from 8:30am – 3pm at the church in Westminster West, VT (United Church of Christ). This year’s theme is Honoring Our Community Children. Jointly, they will serve as Grand Marshal.

The event is held in conjunction with the local library, which has a book sale that day, too.

The Westminster West Community Fair is a major fundraiser for our community (Westminster West, VT) and its church and a wonderful day of celebration, races for young and old, raffles, community focused activities, singing, and bar-b-que for folks of all ages. It is truly a community building time with the church taking on the responsibilities of organizing and hosting the event. For example, the event raises funds to maintain and operate the building site that is home to a wide variety of regional events, including singing groups, environmental access and protection groups, senior exercise programs, and the list goes on.

Each year’s parade honors local community servants, with our wonderful Dove of Peace leading the participants with tractors pulling drummers, children’s bicycling, and other fun floats. Our local library will be an active participant and shares in fundraising. Between 30-40 local businesses are donating products, services, and gift certificates for a silent auction, and community members offer their quality used items for a Golden Elephant Sale. A sample list of these firms follows. We end the day with a talent show and the awarding of prizes for largest and most unusual vegetables – all in good fun.
