BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – Our Place Drop In Center is planning a drive-by food drive Thursday, Oct. 15th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

   The center’s annual Overflow the Opera House food collection event has been cancelled due to the pandemic, so donations of food and money will now be accepted by anyone driving up to the center on 4 Island Street, around the corner from the post office.

“In these unusual times, families need our food pantry more than ever,” said OP director Lisa Pitcher. “We have seen an increase in the number of meals we prepare, that are picked up at OP or delivered to seniors, go from 600 plus in June and July to over 800 in August.

Currently, Our Place is not open, but breakfasts and lunches can be accessed through a window, and food boxes can be picked up at the door.
