The Monadnock Farm and Community Coalition’s Children’s Food Access Alliance work group (Alliance) has completed a year-long initiative that will improve the overall health of Monadnock children by increasing access to locally produced and charitable food throughout the region. The Alliance identified three main priorities to accomplish this: develop a “baseline of hunger” in the region, conduct a comprehensive gap and asset analysis of current nutrition programs, and develop a Food Access Council, a team of individuals with lived experience of hunger to inform food access activities moving forward.
The Alliance assembled this report by conducting over 310 interviews, surveys, and listening sessions with stakeholders and people experiencing food insecurity.
