Join thousands of volunteers from across New England from September 29-30th to clean up the Connecticut River and its tributaries, as part of the Connecticut River Conservancy’s annual Source to Sea Cleanup! This coordinated effort is a chance to spend a fun day on the river and give back to our shared waters!

In the Monadnock region, volunteers can join clean-up efforts happening in Keene, Swanzey and Winchester! Help on-foot or bring your own boat. All ages and group sizes are welcome!

Volunteers are needed! Please register ahead of time by visiting www.cheshireconservation.org/s2s

Online registration is preferred. For assistance in registration, contact 603-756-2988 x3012 or email info@cheshireconservation.org

Regional clean-up locations and times are below:

Friday, 9/29

  • Keene (9:00a-1:00p) – Ashuelot River at Ashuelot River Park (on-foot and boats welcome)

Saturday, 9/30

  • Keene (9:00a-1:00p) – Ashuelot River at Martel Court (boats only)
  • Keene (9:00a-1:00p) – Beaver Brook at Water Street parking area (on-foot and boats welcome)
  • Swanzey (9:00a-1:00p) – Ashuelot River at Cresson Bridge (boats only)
  • Winchester (9:00a-5:00p) – Ashuelot River at Monadnock Speedway (boats only)

These sites include both on-foot and boating locations. Due to limited space on the rivers, volunteers should only use small boats such as kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats.

Volunteers do not require a boat, but those on the water are encouraged to bring life jackets for all passengers. Trash bags and gloves will be provided to all volunteers, and a limited number of t-shirts for volunteers will be available!

More information about specific site locations can be found at: https://www.cheshireconservation.org/s2s
